Thank you for supporting our small business and adding a new collector plant to your collection. Please remember live plants may experience minor stress after shipping while adjusting to their new environment.


Initial Plant Acclimation

Your plant may arrive with minor cosmetic imperfections from transit including slight yellowing, soft leaves or drooping. This is completely normal and part of the acclimation process.


We recommend:

• Allowing your plant to rest for 24–48 hours after arrival

• Keeping it in stable conditions away from direct harsh sunlight

• Avoiding immediate repotting unless necessary

• Gradually introducing it to your growing environment

Temperature

Aroids thrive best in warm stable conditions.


Recommended temperatures:

• 21°C – 26°C ideal

• Avoid sudden temperature drops

• Protect from cold drafts and heaters

Humidity

Most Anthuriums and Alocasias prefer moderate to high humidity.


Recommended humidity:

• 60% – 80% preferred

• Increase airflow if humidity is very high

• Cabinets and greenhouses benefit from circulation fans


Low humidity may cause:

• Crispy leaf edges

• Slower growth

• Damaged emerging leaves

Lighting

Provide bright indirect light.

Avoid:

• Harsh direct afternoon sun

• Very dark areas with no natural or grow light support


Signs of incorrect lighting:

Too much light:

• Burnt leaves

• Faded colouring

Too little light:

• Slow growth

• Smaller leaves

• Less variegation


Watering

Always check the media before watering.

Moss / Soil:

• Keep lightly moist but never soggy

• Allow slight drying between waterings

Semi Hydro / Pon:

• Maintain a small reservoir only

• Avoid drowning immature roots

Fluval Stratum:

• Do not allow stratum to fully dry out

• Maintain slight moisture consistently


Fertilising

During active growth we recommend light regular feeding.

Suggested routine:

• Balanced foliage fertiliser

• Reduced strength weekly feeding

• Flush media occasionally to prevent buildup


Shipping Stress

It is common for plants to:

• Lose older leaves

• Slow growth temporarily

• Require several weeks to fully acclimate

This does not mean the plant is unhealthy.

• Plants are living items and may naturally change over time

• Minor cosmetic damage is considered normal

• Please ensure you understand your local quarantine regulations before purchasing

Do you ship plants Australia wide?

Yes, we ship to most states within Australia. Please check your local state regulations and quarantine requirements before purchasing live plants.

Our customers located in quarantine-restricted states, a plant concierge or quarantine forwarding service may be required depending on your local regulations.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure they understand and comply with their state’s current plant import requirements, laws and quarantine regulations prior to purchasing.

Obsessed With Aroids does not organise concierge or quarantine services on behalf of customers. Any required concierge, forwarding or quarantine arrangements must be independently organised by the purchaser.

When will I get my order?

Orders are generally shipped Mondays and Tuesdays to help minimise plants sitting in transit over weekends.

Do you offer refunds or returns?

Due to the nature of live plants, returns and refunds are not accepted. Please review photos and descriptions carefully before purchasing.

How are plants shipped?

Plants are carefully packaged and shipped in sphagnum moss without pots to help reduce shipping stress and minimise damage during transit. During colder months, thermal packaging may also be used to help preserve plant health and protect against low temperatures.
